Marianne Bernou is a legal & regulatory expert based in Luxembourg, with extensive experience in regulatory and prudential matters, in particular in the field of internal governance and outsourcing relevant for PSPs but also for banks having worked many years as in-house counsel for a Luxembourg private bank.

Marianne is working for Banking Circle, a financial infrastructure provider to payments businesses and banks that received a banking license from the Luxembourg supervisory authority in 2019. As in-house counsel, Marianne supported Banking Circle in transitioning from a payment service provider in Denmark to a fully-fledged bank in Luxembourg.

Marianne also supported the launch of the Emerging Payments Association EU A.S.B.L (EPA EU), a non-profit association of payments industry influencers based in Luxembourg in 2020.

Marianne is also an active board member of LILLA - Ladies in law Luxembourg Association, a non-profit organisation supporting women in the legal sector in Luxembourg.
